The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Hello once again to all our families and friends,
English class in this past first week of May has been very interesting. We have taken the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to another level. Back in March we discovered the tiny caterpillar that eats its way until becoming a beautiful butterfly.
We reviewed the days of the week and we learned about the different types of fruit and their colors.
This past first week of May, we wanted to make something fun and even more entertaining…how does feeding the caterpillar sound? The brand new Tortugues, the Dofins and the Balenes from the P1 classes have enjoyed so much the game we created were we could throw the fruit into the caterpillar´s mouth while naming the its type and color.
“One apple!” “Two pears!” “Three plums!” they all said as they feeded the caterpillar…we sure made him fat and big. Apples are red, pears are green, plums are blue, strawberries are pink and oranges are…. orange!
It lights up my face and theirs as they realized this. This game not only makes learning vocabulary fun but also helps with the development of gross motor and coordination skills.
Here I leave you the link of the animated version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar so you can enjoy it at home too!
Until next time,
