EDUCATIONAL PROJECT AND METHODOLOGY

What is your educational methodology?

At Magnolia we accompany children so that they learn in an active and meaningful way, connecting what they experience with emotions. We create environments rich in experiences, play and experimentation, where they can discover the world at their own pace. Emotional education plays a central role, because we know that emotions are the basis for comprehensive, healthy and balanced development.

What is the latest methodology you have incorporated?

The Culture of Thinking is the latest addition to our project. We are a VESS accredited center, after five years of training, and we work with routines and habits of thought from an early age. This perspective is integrated with methodologies such as Montessori and Reggio Emilia, always from play, the sensory world and experimentation.

What educational stage does the Sant Cugat center cover?

At Magnolia we focus on the 0 to 3 age group, a key time for children’s development. We are a centre authorised by the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya and we receive a partial subsidy from both the Generalitat and the Diputació de Barcelona, ​​which helps to partly reduce the cost for families.

Do you use screens in the classroom?

In the 0 to 3 age group we do not use screens, as we prioritize direct experience, play and the relationship with the environment.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND RELATIONSHIP WITH FAMILIES

How do you work on emotional bonding and emotional support?

The bond is the basis of everything. At Magnolia we take great care of the relationship with each child and their family, offering a close, warm and safe environment. Emotional support is present from day one, with active listening and full presence.

Are you making a gradual adaptation?

Yes, and we do it in a very respectful way. We adapt to the rhythm of each child and family, accompanying them calmly and confidently.

How do you help new children integrate?

With an individualized adaptation program, so that each child feels safe and welcomed from the first day.

What role do families play in school?

You are an essential part of our community. We share our day-to-day lives, involve you in the project and encourage open and constant communication.

PROFESSIONAL TEAM AND SUPPORT

Is the staff qualified?

Yes. The entire team is made up of teachers and technicians with experience and continuous training, always updated on best practices.

Do you have a Psychopedagogical Department?

Yes. We have a psychologist who collaborates with the educational team and families, monitoring, providing support and offering guidance when necessary.

Do you have a pediatric service?

Yes, the school has direct access to Dr. Massaguer, a leading pediatrician, through an online service that allows us to quickly consult any health questions that may arise during the school day. This service is for internal use and helps us to act with medical criteria when necessary, always informing families of any situation.

ORGANIZATION, HOURS AND CALENDAR

Is the school trilingual?

Yes. In each classroom there is an English-speaking educator (except for the infant classroom) who accompanies the child throughout the day. We work with natural immersion in Catalan, Spanish and English, respecting the rhythm of each child.

What is the ratio per educator?

There are two educators in each classroom (one in Catalan and one in English, except for babies), which allows for very individualized attention, above and beyond the regulations.

Do you have flexible hours?

Yes. We are open from 7am to 6:00pm, with reception services to help with work-life balance.

What is the school calendar?

For children aged 0 to 3, we are open 11 months a year: from September to July, including Easter and Christmas. In August we offer an optional summer camp.

FOOD AND HEALTH

Do you have your own kitchen or catering service?

Yes, we have our own kitchen at the center. We offer organic and healthy menus, supervised by a dietitian, with local products such as organic fruit and vegetables, organic meat, fresh fish from the market and fresh eggs. We cook in the oven and with olive oil, and the dining time is accompanied by our teaching team, to guarantee a calm and caring environment.

How do you manage allergies or special diets?

We have a dietitian who adapts the menus and we work in coordination with families to guarantee safe and adequate nutrition.

What measures do you take to prevent infections?

We follow strict hygiene and disinfection protocols and encourage healthy habits.

What security measures do you have?

We are a center authorized by the Department of Education, with adapted facilities, access control and protocols to guarantee the safety of children.

What protocols do you follow in case of an emergency?

We have up-to-date emergency plans and conduct regular drills to ensure a safe response.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCES

Are there outdoor spaces?

Yes. We have large outdoor areas, designed for free play and outdoor learning.

How do you manage conflicts between children?

We work with positive discipline and conflict resolution, promoting respect and empathy.

Are there extracurricular activities?

Yes. We offer English for children aged 2 to 5 with the TET (Total English Teaching) methodology, a fun and experiential English immersion proposal designed for these ages.

Do you go swimming or go out?

Yes! In spring and summer we offer swimming pool activities at the Europa School facilities (optional and subject to availability), as well as educational and recreational outings adapted to each age.

COMMUNICATION AND VISITS

How do you inform families about day-to-day activities?

We hold regular meetings, reports and use the Kindertic app to share each child’s day-to-day.
